BREAKING! EFCC Arrests Controversial Nigerian Musician, Naira Marley On His Birthday

Multiple media reports confirm that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) just arrested controversial Nigerian musician, Afeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley.

According to report by Premium Times, the fast-rising singer is currently being questioned at the EFFC office in Lagos. Although the reason behind his arrest is yet to be made public, it might be in connection with his statements on social media which glorifies internet fraudsters, popularly called Yahoo boys.

Naira Marley who turns a year older today also released the official video of his hit track, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan on Thursday night and has been in the news lately for so many ‘Yahoo’ related news.

Naira Marley during a recent Instagram live session, urged Nigerians to pray for internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) saying they are the reason money circulates to the common man.

In his words, “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?”  The video has since stirred reactions from Nigerians who described Marley as a disgrace and bad example to young Nigerians.

  1. I wonder how some people do judge or condemn other people as if they are saint themselves. The artiste might be and might not be an internet fraudster called Yahoo yahoo… But my point is that, what are the so called EFCC doing to our so called Politician and political leaders as they claim they are ?
Thanks for the news @ cashalart crew.

  2. Am so speechless on the Arrest of Naira Marley. though the young man crossed bounds by insulting his senior colleagues in the music industry on like the likes of Simi and Rugged Man. he should learn to be respectful to legends as well. but as for the act of EFCC arresting him on his birthday is no good idea at all.

  3. Comment: Naira Marley might be right in suggesting that money circulates and gets to the poor through the actions of Yahoo boys, but this is an error and incompetence in the side of the government. I don’t support Marley neither do I support the government because government is also doing their own yahoo yahoo.

  4. One needs to think twice before talking. Even if he is truly guilty of the crime, did he really have to broadcast it this way? In my own opinion, I think he singlehandedly asked for the trouble he is facing now
